This website had its first headline on May 13, 2000, and was formally dedicated on September 29 of the same year. The first date was coincidental, the second planned for the day of the great archangels. Those of you who have been with us from the early days know that we’ve had many accounts of angels, in particular cases whereby angels seem to have materialized as mysterious strangers. [Below this article is an account the TV evangelist, Mother Angelica, told us about way back when).
Most accounts are beneficial, from the bright side: angels assisting motorists, or at the scene of horrible accidents.
And they’re often depicted as indescribably handsome or beautiful. Radiant. Filled with joy. There are also agents of darkness, which we’ll get to in a moment, in the case of a celebrity.
We recall how in New York, Solange Arguello of Queens wrote us about how she was waiting for a bus one dark evening when several men began to approach in a menacing manner. They had spotted her and then huddled in a dark lumber yard before making their threatening approach. She was terrified — knowing what was on their minds — and she was ready to throw herself into oncoming traffic, if necessary, to avoid the assault.
That’s when things got interesting.
“Somehow I was frozen in my spot,” Solange writes. ” I was alone, it was dark, the lumber yard was only a few feet away from me. I wasn’t able to run, and the idea of escaping didn’t run through my mind either. When I saw that I had no where to run, I got very, very scared. They were coming closer and closer.
“Then, something caught my eye. I looked across the street to the other side. A tall young man, with shoulder length curly blond hair was in the middle of the avenue, heading towards the stop. His face was beautiful. He had a very strong forehead. As he walked, his hair bounced and somehow the light caught his shiny blond curls. As I said, it was night, and it was dark. But, at that distance, from the other side of the street, I could make out the color of his eyes. They were a shining, sparkling blue — ice-blue, piercing eyes. He was very strong looking; determination was written all over his face. He had a serious look on his face, not angry just serious like when someone is on a mission.
“My heart jumped with joy and relief. I was not alone anymore. He came and stood right next to me. He didn’t say anything, he didn’t look my way. He was very tall, white complexion. It’s been about ten years since that happened and in my mind I can still see him crystal clear as if it was yesterday.
“What I remember most of all are the sparkling, piercing blue eyes. They were like two stars in the night. And his beautiful, curly blond hair bouncing as he walked, framing his strong forehead. Handsome, but he did not inspire human attraction, rather, respect and awe because you could feel his strength, not physical but a strength that I cannot describe.
“When I looked in his direction while he crossed the street, I was captivated by him. It was as if time stopped, and I think my mouth was wide open as I saw how he stepped hard and strong and manly, like he knew no fear. This happened in a matter of seconds. But I felt that I was in some time warp because even though it was dark and he was at a great distance from me, I could make out every detail of him. When the four or five men who were walking towards me looked in his direction, and saw what was coming towards them, they scattered like rats [back to the dark of the lumber yard].”
We reflect on all this because last week were news reports of the singer Lady Gaga, pictured praying devoutly, with a Rosary, and discussing her physical and mental struggles, including with fibromyalgia (which has erupted in the general populace in a rather mysterious way), and said she believed it was punishment for what amounted to a pact with forces of darkness — an angel or entity from the other, wrong side.
If good angels can materialize, it makes sense that their counterparts can and do.
Or is the singer imagining things (there is that “mental struggles” comment)?
“I had just been on stage, it was a good show, I was high on the love and applause from the crowd,” she recalled from her early days, before gaining fame. “I was outside lighting a cigarette, thinking about scoring some more cocaine. I was aching for more. More of everything. I just wanted to feel good. Feel anything. Then this man, a strangely ageless man in a suit, spoke to me. He was leaning against the wall, smoking, and he said to me ‘I think you’ve got what it takes. Do you want it?’ I asked what ‘it’ was. I thought he was coming on to me. But he smiled and said ‘Everything. Success. Fame. Riches. Power. Do you want it all?’
“I looked at him curiously. I couldn’t work him out. Then he just stood there and sang one of the songs from my routine earlier. It was otherworldly. I stared at him like he was a dark jewel dredged up from the deepest ocean. I got down on my knees and asked him who I should praise. I looked him right in the eye and told him I wanted it all. I told him I’d do anything.”
As noted by a priest, Father Robert Heilman, “Gaga believes the physical illness, fibromyalgia, a chronic pain condition she says she has experienced for a while, is the physical manifestation of her fight to get out of the Illuminati record industry and break her contract with the ‘dark prince.’
“They may give you special powers, outer beauty, talent, and wealth for a while… but it doesn’t last,” Gaga said. “This is the reason why so many people who dabble in the dark arts are so unhappy. They flicker bright like a morning star and then wind up committing suicide or destroying themselves with substance abuse.”
Added the prrest: “As a struggling performer who played mostly in dive bars, in burlesque clubs, and at late night revues, Gaga had little commercial success or public recognition before meeting the man she describes as ‘my illuminated prince.’
“After ‘concluding a deal’ with the prince outside the Mercury Lounge in New York City, Gaga found ‘success was a cinch.’ In exchange for her soul, Gaga was able to create the music for which she became famous. Suddenly high-level collaborators, producers and promoters were lining up to work with the unknown burlesque performer.
“Within one year she was a multi-platinum pop star, her work reaching an audience of billions around the world.”
Said Gaga: “His promises came true very quickly. At the start I thought we made a good team. But it wasn’t long before I began to suffer…”
Has this unusual singer, who certainly has a occult look about her, found conversion?
Let us pray for her and the millions of other such young people.
But let’s finished with the uplifting, ethereal type of mysterious strangers.
Also in New York, Barbara Flood once related the account of Divine intervention during a recent snowstorm, as she was driving down a winding mountain road towards Route 145 in Cobbleskill. “My husband followed in his truck as we tried to keep our vehicles from colliding with other cars that had spun out of control, facing different directions, on the thick ice,” she says. “I was able to reach the main road but my car too was sliding out of control. I prayed out loud for God to send help to keep us all safe.
“Just then, I noticed a very odd looking blue car that was stuck in a ditch, surrounded by a few people trying to get it out. As I sat helpless, a stunning, golden-haired young man, with intense, sky blue eyes, and the most innocent expression on his face, climbed away from the ditch, towards my stranded car. He had no gloves on in the piercing cold, and he carried several handfuls of sand and scattered it around the base of the tires on my car. I was able to get enough traction to drive uphill to the car repair shop. My husband, who was following arrived shortly afterwards. He witnessed the whole thing, and said it was a miracle that nobody collided or was injured.
“We returned a few minutes later, but there was no sign of the blue car or the kind, quiet young man.”
It is a place where the Archangel Michael has manifested since A.D. 404.
An astonishing place to visit!
A cave there serves as a basilica, and the sensations of heavenly power are palpable.
Heading for this site a few years ago, on the way back from Assisi, Mother Angelica, of Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), experienced one of the most dramatic angelic experiences on record. She was in the company of three other nuns and a deacon named Bill Steltemeier.
It wasn’t just one angel they happened across.
It was a carload.
They were about twenty miles from the cave when the five travelers found themselves at a crossroads and couldn’t decide which way to turn. There was a road to the left and a road to the right. But there were no signs, and it was something of a dead end.
All that was around were the stony hills and occasional livestock.
“I slowed down as I came to the intersection,” Deacon Bill, since deceased, once told us. “All of a sudden we saw a car coming very fast from the left. It was speeding. I rolled down my window. I wanted to ask him directions.
“He slowed down to probably thirty miles an hour. There were a whole bunch of handsome men in that car, three in the front and three in the back — in this small car.
“I’m trying to wave at them.
“They were all looking at us, smiling.
“All of a sudden a young man just jumps out of the back seat on the other side of the car while it’s going thirty miles an hour and heads straight for us. The car never stopped! It just kept going. All of a sudden he comes out the back. I was just flabbergasted!
“As he walks to me, I see he is just so handsome and as I’m wondering about how he got out of the car, Mother Angelica is saying, ‘It’s an angel! It’s an angel!’
“I’m just totally surprised. I knew Mother Angelica was saying it was an angel, but I had never seen one. I’m ready to ask him the way to the top of the Gargano when he points to the mountain to the right and says, ‘That way to Gargano,’ in perfect English. But he was as Italian as anyone I ever saw!
“He was extremely handsome, maybe 22 and very dynamic, yet extraordinarily young.
“I knew there was something about him that was different — just so handsome in a way I had never seen.
“I asked if he wanted a ride. He said he would go back to the intersection — where there were no houses and no human for twenty-five miles. It was desolate — just livestock on the hillside,” the only life rupestrine. Bill recalled that the sisters were all excited. “Mother Angelica kept repeating, ‘It’s an angel!'”
They started up the hill, Bill driving, the nuns looking back at the strange young man, this fellow who looked 22 and yetdidn’t look 22.
As they watched, the stranger walked in a pattern that formed a cross — fifteen feet one way, then up and down. A cross! He did this six or seven times.
All of a sudden the nuns cried in unison, “He’s gone!”]
The helpful man had vanished before their eyes.
