Of Trump And A Seer

I was reading a story on your website today (Jan 28) that mentioned Charlie Johnston. The author stated that Johnston said that there would be no peaceful transfer of power from Mr. Obama to Mr. Trump. I thought he had merely said that there would be no transfer at all. If the former is the accurate report, then we have to ask ourselves: has the transfer of power been peaceful?

America is more divided today than it has been since the Civil War. In another sense, the division is worse: there is violence in the streets and for more than half of America, the Triune God has not only been rejected, but that rejection is intertwined with all aspects of American law and society.

In any case, with the response to the election of the radical left in America and among America’s “celebrities”, it seems the great Divider, Satan himself, is raging across America as he has never done before. Americans are seeing, if not learning, that when you “deport” God, you need to fear who will be “immigrating” into the country to replace him.

Donald Trump said some really nasty things during the election, but he keeps talking about God and doing things that to a neutral, objective observer in Canada seem incredibly wise. Catholic leaders inside and outside of America should be encouraging the faithful – imploring them – to pray for President Trump. He’s going to need all the help he can get, especially if Mr. Johnston’s prophecy hasn’t truly failed.
