Prophetic Pulse: Bad News For NYC?
By Michael H. Brown

Years ago I met an alleged seer in Ireland who had all kinds of prophecies about the future, many of them dire. That was in 1991. Years later, during a trip to New York, she, like my dear friend from Venezuela, Maria Esperanza, foresaw an attack on the World Trade Center. She now predicts new, fairly dramatic, and certainly awful things for America's largest city. Legitimate?
Interestingly, so does an exorcist from Spain who, it turns out, has "apocalyptic" visions.
The disasters many forecast seem now getting past an embryonic stage. One part of the country is scorched. Another's in a deep freeze. The mercury is bursting the metaphoric glass thermometer bulb. We can only look with wonderment at how tremendous fires engulfed large expanses in the Golden State at the same time Chicago (so early in the season!) suffered its worst blizzard in decades.
Does anyone really have to even mention the chaos on the world stage?
Vitriol. Persecutions. Incivilities that threaten civil uprisings. The Irish seer said long ago the Church would be shaken "even to its foundation." The exorcist says the same.
And so it's time for a prophecy update. Let's see, as periodically we do, what our putative prophets proclaim -- but now with the added twist of an exorcist's visions. Is America on the cusp of radical change? Is a much-larger "9/11" in the offing? Is it all morbid fantasy or could it really be true that New York City faces annihilation?
A taking of the "prophetic pulse," as 2018 comes to a loud and perhaps portentous close:
