Protection From Blessed Salt Is Noted As Attacks From The ‘Dark’ Side Intensify
In March we helped equip dozens of people with blessed salt so they could spread it in California — focusing on San Francisco — and during a retreat in St. Augustine, Florida, earlier this month, many more pounds were distributed for dispersal in various parts of Florida and the rest of the country. God-willing, the next efforts will focus on the Northeast and Midwest (starting with Philadelphia and Chicago).
Of course, it doesn’t have to wait for us: just buy some salt, take it to a priest, and have him bless it like Holy Water. You can buy small amounts or bags of it, if the Spirit moves you (food wholesalers and pool-supply stores have large quantities).
For some reason, we are being moved in a powerful way to promote this practice throughout the continent — around the world — and especially urge it in areas where there is special evil. Spread it throughout your community.
The times are urgent and this can be powerful. It can mitigate. There is actual force behind our sacramentals.
It is beyond question a valid sacramental, and if your priest needs the prayer of blessing, see the end of this article (or this link, or try the prayers in the book True Knights).
In Matthew 5:13, salt symbolizes wisdom, though originally it probably (as now) had an exorcistic signification. Its use in the Church belongs exclusively to the Roman Rite. The Ritual knows two kinds of salt for liturgical purposes, the baptismal salt and the blessed salt, notes a Catholic encyclopedia.
“Holy salt is often exorcized and blessed in the preparation of Holy Water for the Asperges before high Mass on Sunday and for the use of the faithful in their homes,” we are informed.
“The present formula of blessing is taken from the Gregorian Sacramentary (P.L., LXXVIII, 231). Both baptismal salt and blessed salt may be used again without a new benediction.” If your priest will not bless it, contact your diocese; you have a right to it.
And it is crucial. This seems clear “in the Spirit.” It is mitigation of potential events. It is spiritual warfare!
“At the end of last year, I wrote you about my eldest daughter who was studying in Hamburg, and had experienced a strange ‘haunting’ experience at night in her room,” wrote viewer Clare Anderson.* “She had no recurrence after using Holy Water, prayers of deliverance and wearing the Benedict and Miraculous Medal, which she still wears. I’m sharing this with you principally because it seems to me that this kind of thing is manifesting more commonly – and you have been writing about signs of the times for some while. The evil forces seem to be increasingly angry and aggressive as if they know that their time is short.”
“I read your article with interest on the power of Holy Blessed Salt and Holy Water,” wrote a woman from Maryland. “I live in Forest Hill and we experienced the brunt of a hurricane (some years back).
“About two weeks before, I visited the National Shrine of our Lady of Lourdes in Emmitsburg, Maryland, with my daughter and the wonderful chaplain, Father Lombardi, told us to take the Holy Water from the spring in front of Our Lady’s grotto home with us.
“So, I filled a plastic jug I had in the van and filled it with holy spring water. We prayed for our family and friends, lit candles, and attended the noon Mass.
“When we arrived back home, we put the half gallon of Holy Water by the garage door and forgot about it.
“Later in the week when we heard the news of the hurricane, we prayed a Rosary in our family room.
“Then, the day it swiftly approached us here in Maryland, coming up the shore, I had the idea to use the Holy Water from the shrine and bless the perimeter of my house.
“The winds were kicking up, and I tied down all chairs, tables and brought in planters off the deck as it was almost dusk.
“It was unusually windy for us in Forest Hill. When I brought the last plant in, I spied the jug of Holy Water and immediately started to go out blessing the entire perimeter of the house, asking the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Blessed Lady to protect my family and home. I had about half of the jug of water left and I looked over at my elderly neighbors home, Anne and Sam, and quietly blessed their home in the same manner as mine!
“It was now dark out and I took a small flashlight so I could see around their home. The wind and rain started to sting my face so I went in, and got out bottled water, several flashlights for my family and put a rosary at every doorknob.
“As the storm progressed and pounded, I expected our power to go out! Even when we have a thunderstorm, we often lose power in our neighborhood. Well, the unexpected happened this time. After the devastation and with so many trees down, our home and Sam’s and Ann’s home were the only ones in a five-block radius with power. We found this unnatural since we were hooked to the same pole as the people down the street from us — and they all had no power for four days.”
In our time, and in the coming days, weeks, and years, we should all keep this in mind.
Fire? Storms? Or just plain evil?
Two weeks ago we ran the article about a Japanese researcher who claims to have documented the actual effect of Gospel songs, prayers, and classical music on the patterns of water crystals.
It seems such crystals form beautifully when in the presence of Beethoven — or when the water is from a place like Lourdes — and are malformed when water is in the presence of darkness (heavy-metal music and negativity — or so this scientist asserts).
We left that up to your discernment.
If true — if love, if gratitude, if purity — can affect water, we see how it can affect any living thing.
What about salt crystals?
“You saw the images of how water molecules are affected by spirit in the micro perspective,” writes correspondent Joel McCain. “Now look at it in the macro perspective, or world view. Earth is mostly water, as are we. Our physical life energy is seriously compromised by the overwhelming enormity of the evil which has spread over our world.
“Our views are becoming as distorted as the molecules which were cursed with the words, ‘you fool!’ All of that which is good is being called evil, and all of that which is evil is being called good. Not only is that a sign of the end times, it is utterly inevitable within the context of such hatred, rage, fear, lust, maliciousness, and rebellion. Our world has never known such malignant evil, and will not survive it for long.
“However, we can choose to hoist the Cross over our homes and over our lives, and stand our ground. This world has cast its fate, and now is exactly when we need to be in it, but not of it. Our molecules can remain life-affirming and unpolluted, with the gifts of grace. We can remain reflections of the light of creation, and we must…”
“I read your article on the Blessed Salt and I am very much a believer as I have experienced much in my lifetime,” wrote Bernie DeFrancesco of Wilkes-Barre.
“I carry Holy Water with me and douse regularly. I was at my daughter’s in Weehawken, New Jersey, during one of the recent snow storms this winter and my car was plowed in with sleet which later turned to solid ice. She had just had knee surgery so I wasn’t able to clean off the car while snow was still falling and by the time I got to it, it was solid ice.
“I picked at the ice for an hour one day and thought good job, tomorrow I should just be able to drive out of here.
“Well, I removed the snow and ice from the wheels but there was a build of ice under the car which would not let me out of the parking space.
“All I was doing was racing the wheels and driving the car up on top of the block of ice which was between the front and back tires and losing traction.
“After another hour of futile attempts to free myself, and I had to leave to go home that day, I sprinkled Holy Water all over my car and the snow and ice surrounding it. I said, ‘God, it’s your problem now.’ But I continued to chip at the ice.
“Not five minutes later a truck pulled up beside me. Two beautiful construction workers were going to push me out, or break the ice up for me. They decided to push. It didn’t work. Until their friend who I swear looked like God the Father came out of his house and then the three of them (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) sent me safely on my way. I got silly and started to cry as I waved to them, thanking them and blessing them for their good deed. My only regret is that I didn’t use the Holy Water sooner. I will always pray for these wonderful men.”
Sure they weren’t angels, Bernie?
And boy: what if it had been a salt truck that had stopped by?

Prayers for Priests to Bless Sacramentals
(Taken from old Roman Ritual prayer books, unless otherwise noted)
Exorcism Blessing for Water and Salt
(Priest vests in surplice and purple stole)
P: Our help is in the name of the Lord.
R: Who made heaven and earth.
Exorcism of Salt (necessary for Exorcism of Water)
P: O salt, creature of God, I exorcise you by the living (+) God, by the true (+) God, by the holy (+) God, by the God who ordered you to be poured into the water by Elisha the prophet, so that its life-giving powers might be restored. I exorcise you so that you may become a means of salvation for believers, that you may bring health of soul and body to all who make use of you, and that you may put to flight and drive away from the places where you are sprinkled; every apparition, villainy, turn of devilish deceit, and every unclean spirit; adjured by him who will come to judge the living and the dead and the world by fire.
R: Amen.
P: Let us pray. Almighty and everlasting God, we humbly implore you, in your immeasurable kindness and love, to bless (+) this salt which you created and gave to the use of mankind, so that it may become a source of health for the minds and bodies of all who make use of it. May it rid whatever it touches or sprinkles of all uncleanness, and protect it from every assault of evil spirits. Through Christ our Lord.
R: Amen.
Exorcism of Water
P: O water, creature of God, I exorcise you in the name of God the Father (+) Almighty, and in the name of Jesus (+) Christ His Son, our Lord, and in the power of the Holy (+) Spirit. I exorcise you so that you may put to flight all the power of the enemy, and be able to root out and supplant that enemy with his apostate angels, through the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will come to judge the living and the dead and the world by fire.
R: Amen.
P: Let us pray. O God, for the salvation of mankind, you built your greatest mysteries on this substance, water. In your kindness, hear our prayers and pour down the power of your blessing (+) into this element, made ready for many kinds of purifications. May this, your creature, become an agent of divine grace in the service of your mysteries, to drive away evil spirits and dispel sickness, so that everything in the homes and other buildings of the faithful that is sprinkled with this water, may be rid of all uncleanness and freed from every harm. Let no breath of infection and no disease-bearing air remain in these places. May the wiles of the lurking enemy prove of no avail. Let whatever might menace the safety and peace of those who live here be put to flight by the sprinkling of this water, so that the health obtained by calling upon your holy name, may be made secure against all attack. Through Christ our Lord.
R: Amen.
(Priest pours exorcised salt into the water, in the form of a cross)
P: May a mixture of salt and water now be made, in the name of the Father, and of the (+) Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
R: Amen.
P: The Lord be with you.
R: And with your spirit.
P: Let us pray. O God, Creator unconquerable, invincible King, Victor ever-glorious, you hold in check the forces bent on dominating us. You overcome the cruelty of the raging enemy, and in your power you beat down the wicked foe. Humbly and fearfully do we pray to you, O Lord, and we ask you to look with favor on this salt and water which you created. Shine on it with the light of your kindness. Sanctify it by the dew of your love, so that, through the invocation of your holy name, wherever this water and salt is sprinkled, it may turn aside every attack of the unclean spirit, and dispel the terrors of the poisonous serpent. And wherever we may be, make the Holy Spirit present to us, who now implore your mercy. Through Christ our Lord.
R: Amen.
Exorcism Blessing for Oil (Olive)
(Use regular, 100% pure oil) (Priest vests in surplice and purple stole)
P. Our help is in the name of the Lord.
R. Who made heaven and earth.
P: O oil, creature of God, I exorcise you by God the Father (+) almighty, who made heaven and earth and sea, and all that they contain. Let the adversary’s power, the devil’s legions, and all of Satan’s attacks and machinations be dispelled and driven far from this creature, oil. Let it bring health in body and mind to all who use it, in the name of God (+) the Father almighty, and of our Lord Jesus (+) Christ, His Son, and of the Holy (+) Spirit, as well as in the love of the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who is coming to judge both the living and the dead and the world by fire.
R. Amen.
P: O Lord hear my prayer.
R: And let my cry come unto thee.
P: May the Lord be with you.
R: And with your spirit.
P: Let us pray. Lord God almighty, before whom the hosts of angels stand in awe, and whose heavenly service we acknowledge; may it please you to regard favorably and to bless (+) and hallow (+) this creature, oil, which by your power has been pressed from the juice of olives. You have ordained it for anointing the sick, so that, when they are made well, they may give thanks to you, the living and true God. Grant we pray, that those who will use this oil, which we are blessing (+) in your name, may be protected from every attack of the unclean spirit, and be delivered from all suffering, all infirmity, and all wiles of the enemy. Let it be a means of averting any kind of adversity from man, redeemed by the precious blood of your Son, so that he may never again suffer the sting of the ancient serpent. Through Christ our Lord.
R. Amen.
(Priest sprinkles the oil with holy water)
————————–
There is also the blessing of candles:
“Our help is in the name of the Lord. Who made heaven and earth. The Lord be with you.
“And also with you.
Let us pray. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, bless these candles at our lowly request. Endow them, Lord, by the power of the holy + cross, with a blessing from on high, you who gave them to mankind in order to dispel darkness. Let the blessing that they receive from the sign of the holy + cross be so effectual that, wherever they are lighted or placed, the princes of darkness may depart in trembling from all these places, and flee in fear, along with all their legions, and never more dare to disturb or molest those who serve you, the almighty God, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen
